About Noah

In 20 words or less, what is the best thing about being part of this department?
All of the incredible discussion

What is your advice to first years and sophomores about getting connected to this department?
The best thing you can do is ask others who have taken philosophy courses what they think about different courses! Oh, and definitely start with a topic you think will be interesting.

What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned at K?
I think I’ve learned far more about how to consider alternative opinions and see where other people are coming from.

What has been your favorite class at K? Why?
Probably FYS (First-Year Seminar) 188, Imagining Possible Worlds with Dr. Lars Enden. It was an incredible introduction to philosophy which used short stories and movies to introduce ideas. The entire class was just a discussion. I think Lars only had to lecture once. It was a great first class at K!

How have you taken advantage of the open curriculum or experienced breadth in your education?
Majoring in three things would be impossible without the open curriculum, so I find it incredibly helpful if you’re extremely interested in several different topics!

What experiential education opportunities have you participated in?
I worked with the program CAPS my freshman year and loved it, and now I’m working with the Math and Physics Center and I’m the SRA of Trowbridge Hall.

What is your SIP?
I’m writing documents and creating videos on introductory math topics (mainly Calculus 1-3).

What are your career aspirations/next steps after K?
I’m planning on going to graduate school for applied math, but I’m most interested in going into math education!

What is a random fun fact about you?
On several occasions, I have been almost killed by a Bison.
